Time was running out for Phineas J. Rabbit, the owner of Coloured Eggs Unlimited. All seemed to be going as scheduled, except for one thing. Now, Phineas J. Rabbit’s prized hand-painted, truly egg-nificient, egg-quisite, egg-cellent, egg-ceptionally different from anything he had ever created egg was missing, and the Egg-stravaganza in the town square was starting in just two hours! Sunnie Bunny, Hunnie Bunny and Bunnie Bunny froze in fear. No one knew the egg was missing! Bunnie, Hunnie and Sunnie would all learn a valuable lesson about playing while you are supposed to be working and the value of following instructions, egg-specially Uncle Phineas’ instructions! The mild peril endured by Phineas is mitigated by close friends, thus making the young readers assured that they’re not on their own.

Brenda L. Taylor is not a New York Times bestseller yet, but she is a refreshing, up-and-coming, witty new author who thinks as an adult that writes for children. Her first loves are reading children’s books to children, collecting and writing children’s books and literature. She graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics/Early Childhood Education, where she got her first taste of writing children's literature when she enrolled in a children’s literature course as an elective, and the rest as they say is history. Her work has been published in company newsletters and local newspapers. She lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, and is single. Her first children’s picture storybook has been hailed to be a hoot and a half! A story that is a charming delight to the senses and a play on words. Her storyline is entirely recognizable and its location comfortable and settling. It’s an entirely accessible and welcoming picture storybook that, amongst an already busy genre, could very well find its furry feet amongst international readership. Welcome to the world of soaring a child’s imagination beyond the limits!

Phineas J Rabbit’s Prized Hand-Painted Egg Is Missing by Brenda L Taylor is a charming book for the under fives.
The story has a moral but asks the reader what we think the moral is, which enables us to recap the story with our children and see what they remember.
We see the importance of supporting each other, being truthful and forgiving.
All the book is beautifully illustrated which means we can spend a while talking about what our children can see in each picture.
The rabbits are very appealing with their big eyes and friendly faces.
This is a beautiful book with an important message that deserves to be a children’s best seller.
I received a free copy from the publishers. A favourable review was not required. All opinions are my own.
