Pip and Me is a story of love between a child and their parent who found each other through adoption. Years after being brought together, Pip’s early life trauma continues to significantly impact their daily lives.

Pip is nine years old, struggling with everyday life, feeling scared, out of control and sometimes angry. This book will take you on a journey of how an average day feels for Pip and how that same day is seen from a parent’s perspective. Their experiences are the same, yet they are both managing different feelings, reactions, and reflections.

Why can’t Pip just stop throwing things? Will the bathroom get flooded again? Will Pip ever be able to listen? This story shines a light on how a parent’s reactions can make or break the day.

An adoptive parent’s love and presence flood through the book, but how does this feel for Pip?

Verity Perry lives in Brighton with her husband and son. She created this book to help fellow parents see adoption through the lens of the child. Pip and Me allows people to understand what life could be like as an adoptive parent and what it could take to support their child. Having experienced the adoption process herself, Verity hopes that this book will help start those difficult but vitally important conversations during and after the process. It is also a book for family and friends as part of the support network to understand the impact of trauma and loss.
