Book Description
We were all standing in line at the clinic door. I was scared. Like all children, I clung to my mother. Willow was crying out of fear. Uncle Unicorn laughed when he saw us. He walked in ahead to show us that there was nothing to fear about getting vaccinated. The door was open, and I could see inside the room. The doctor had a large syringe in his hand and was waiting. When he saw Uncle Unicorn, he smiled and kindly placed a hand on his forehead. He knew that Uncle Unicorn is a pioneer in everything and always looks out for the lambs. The doctor inserted the large needle into Uncle’s brown wool. I hid behind my mother out of fear. I thought I would hear Uncle moan loudly... But he didn’t.
One by one, the sheep went in until it was my turn. I entered the room with my mother. I wanted to run away, but my mother nudged me forward with her snout. To keep myself from being scared, I closed my eyes and started singing.
“Baa baa, you sing so sweetly,
Running on your tiny feet.
Underneath the sky so blue,
Little lamb, I love you!”
