From the hop gardens in the county of Kent, the Garden of England, come the Hoppolkin. Much like hops themselves, these little Kentish characters make their first appearance. Find out what happened to a young Hoppolkin called Shim one very rainy day. And why Aunt Lupulus was in an extremely huffy mood. Were they hops or Hoppolkin I saw? First I saw hops, then I saw Hoppolkin. Come and meet some of these fun, hop-like characters.
Born in Rochester, Kent, Claire continues to live in the county with her family. It is through her love for Kent, writing and drawing that the Kentish Hoppolkin have made their appearance. In this, her first published tale, Claire introduces us to just some of her characters, unique to the Garden of England.
