They leave behind a life of privilege when a reversal of finances leaves them destitute. They find themselves confronting the harsh realities of travel on the Oregon Trail and the Okanagan Trail. Along the way they experience fear, sorrow, joy, culture shock, problems and setbacks before establishing one of the largest cattle ranches in Okanagan history.
