With the arrival of your dinner plate have you ever paused to think what might be running through the minds of those little morsels cowering beneath the prongs of your menacing fork.

Put yourself in their position, the terror of not knowing. Will I be the first to go? Will it be quick, if minds are on pudding? Your only certainty is the knowledge that you won’t be around to witness the end of those bland peas. They’ll be last, for sure!

Katrina Blundell grew up with a love for writing. Her writing journey started at university where she studied screenwriting and it has had a strong presence in her career as a primary school teacher. Seeing children escape into fictional stories and seeing, first-hand, how books can aid children’s intellectual and social development was a huge catalyst in her taking a step into the shoes of an author.

She is a real foodie; hence her first published book is themed around food and she loves nothing more than trying new recipes and restaurants, especially when sharing those experiences with loved ones!

What a funny, engaging book! As a Year 1 teacher, my class love the rhyming patterns and join in when reading aloud. A great book to get your children talking about food and encouraged to try new things or just to finish what is on their plate!

A really engaging text for the children in my class. If you contact the author on social media, there's a lovely planning unit you can get as complimentary extra with purchase of the book. Great for ks2 classrooms!
