After a storm, the worst one ever on record, has hit the town, a dog walker comes across a leg sticking out of the mud down by the river. At the first glance, he thinks it is a mannequin but on closer inspection, he realises it is a human leg. DCI Thomas is about to retire so is enraged to have to deal with this incident, especially when more bodies are discovered. He has to put his retirement on hold to solve the case; he cannot leave his team until this is done as he has solved each and every case he has taken on. PC Andrews, a young police officer not long out of training, works alongside him. He used to be her father’s partner until he met an untimely demise. Thomas needs to shield her at all costs.

Danielle Cole is a 56-year-old mother and grandmother. She has worked in the secondary education sector for over twenty years and has taken up writing as a hobby over the years for enjoyment. She started off writing short stories and illustrating them for her grandchildren to read at bedtime. Then she progressed into writing further fiction and decided, as her family found them intriguing to read, that she would send a novel she had written to a publisher.
