Sleep Little Tortoise is a delightful story for young children who have trouble settling at bedtime. It is the tale of a cheeky tortoise that is reluctant to hibernate. Going to sleep seems like a very boring idea when there’s so much fun to be had.

After a restless start, the tortoise learns how to use her imagination to carry her into her dream world.  There she discovers that sleep can be anything but boring.

L B Baxter has worked for many years as a children’s photographer. She has always had a passion for writing and has published a philosophical fable for young adults called Oceans Apart. This is her first published children’s picture book.

This lovely little story brings dreaming alive through lots of nature based images. It captures the fun in dreaming, helpfully making going to bed calming but also enticing. A family favourite.

Such a fun story perfect for talking about sleep and mindfulness with little ones in a positive and cheerful way. The hibernation analogy works brilliantly and we love, love, love all the imagery - especially the talking questions and the cows eating with their knives and forks! Thoroughly recommended.

My sister gave this book to my 4 and 6-year-old children. It's really sweet and has the feel of a classic. They absolutely love it. There's something very calming about the book which makes it a great one to read at bedtime. We all love the rhyming too!

Lovely book. I bought it for my twin nephew and niece for their third birthday. The children loved it and went to sleep happily after the bedtime story. My own daughter, who is seven read it to them and she also loved it. I would definitely recommend it.

A beautiful tale, told in rhyme, about a tortoise who is having trouble sleeping. But he finds out that sleep really isn't boring at all . . . Lovely words - illustrated throughout – a highly recommended bedtime story for all those needing to help their kids drift off to sleep.
