Tea in the Redwoods satirizes the manners and mores of the fictional residents of Mill Valley. There is much going on in this secluded little town in Northern California, peopled with residents from other countries, other states, and surrounded by giant redwood trees.

Portia is waiting and hoping for the return of a husband lost in Papua New Guinea. Helena and Lisa, two attractive young actresses, are vying for the same role in a local production of The Merchant of Venice. Adam is taking the advice of his spandex warrior group on how to court the unresponsive Portia, while Olivia, her designer sister, has set her cap at Adam. A spunky Jack Russell is dognapped. Roderic McLeod, a charming senior citizen who possesses a Scottish heirloom, enters a retirement complex and is overwhelmed by women residents.

The plot chronicles the local happenings – a visiting guru, rehearsals for the play, a bike tour, a dog rescue, and other capers.
