Patricia Backofen has been a registered nurse and an educator for over thirty years. She and her husband have raised seven happy and healthy children and now have seven grandchildren. Patty's mother introduced her to monarch butterflies and now Patty is teaching her grandchildren to appreciate these beautiful garden jewels. Patty shared her butterfly stories with her children and their friends. They were all captivated by the story and Sara's butterflies.

I received my copy of the Adventure of Sara and her Pet Butterfly. I wondered at first if the Monarch was real. AS soon as a saw the little girl on back cover holding a real Monarch I was amazed. I loved the butterfly facts and the illustrations were so good. I am ordering another copy for my daughter and grand daughter back east. Thank you and we will be waiting for the other books and further adventures with Sara!

such a great children's book! Easy to read, and the colors throughout the pictures in the story are vibrant and captivating. my child makes me read this every night now!

I was always afraid of butterflies as a child. I read this book to my 6 year daughter and she loved the pictures and she loved Bonnie. What a cute story and amazing that it is true

I purchased this book for my sister who is currently in middle school. She really enjoyed the art work and the knowledge she gained from this great novel. I highly recommend this title for anyone who is interested in nature, butterflies, or science in general as this was one of her favorites. The only negative side of this great book was the difficulty I experienced while ordering it. First, I tried to order it through Amazon, but gave up after the book did not come within the first few weeks. I then moved to order it through the Austin Macauley website and received the book within a week.

One of my wife's nieces loves Monarch Butterflies. I can't wait to get the book and read the book to her. Her friend already has the book and loves it. We'll have fun reading it together.
