Matthew was born in Grays, Thurrock, in 1986. He currently lives in Maesteg, Llynfi Valley, County Borough of Bridgend, South Wales, with his wife and cat, Smokey. He is a keen cricketer, walker and crafter, and runs his own craft shop in the town with his wife. As a lover of Terry Pratchett and Terry Brooks, he took inspiration and decided to write something magical for the younger generation.
