Thousands of doctors and nurses suffer with mental health problems. Often in secret, carrying on their life, saving work at a huge cost to themselves. This is the story of how depression sunk its teeth into me and the battles it took me to overcome it. This is the story of how I went from doctor to patient and back again. This is the story of how I beat depression and a way of letting you know that you can too. This is The Cost of Caring.

Dr Perry Crofts studied medicine at the University of Warwick before moving to South Wales to work as a doctor. He enjoys heavy metal and cats.

    A brilliant read!
This is a powerfully honest account of living with depression - not sadness but a brutal portrayal of the guilt, shame and intrusive thoughts you have while at your lowest.
It's very refreshing to read about depression in such a way, and yet it still manages to be uplifting and (at times) humorous!
I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who suffers from mental health or wants to understand how it feels.
A talented writer and I can't wait to read whatever they do next!
