Marina Kretova is a professional writer and journalist, a well-known author of historical novels, contemporary stories, and lyrics to musical hits. Marina has Slavic and Balkan roots in her ancestry. Since childhood, her main passion has been writing stories and traveling. Until now, she has retained a childlike, direct view of the world, which is why children love her stories.

Marina chose the ‘Green Continent’ - Australia - for her life. She is Aussie now, and it is here that she wrote the book The Dancing Magpie. Her main character is a little, curious girl Sonya. She discovers the world around her by fantasizing and asking questions. And her father, mother, and grandmother, by answering her questions, help her learn about the world and socialize.

This book will be the first in a series of children’s books that Marina conceived to write.

"The Dancing Magpie" by Marina Kretova is a fascinating read for children and adults. The book is written on behalf of a charming and naive girl, Sonia, who discovers the world around her. And we, unwittingly following her, look at the world through her eyes, sometimes with a smile, sometimes with surprise. The book reads very easily and with great interest - ten small stories, ten wonderful stories about Australian nature and way of life. This is absolutely positive literature that teaches love, kindness, and respect for people and the surrounding world. The talented text by Marina Krestova is successfully complemented by beautiful illustrations by Alexandra Kay. Its printing is impeccable - paper, font and layout are at the highest level. Such a book is pleasant to hold in your hands, it is interesting to read in a family circle and to give as a gift.

Broken up into 10 little stories, the reader can walk with the protagonist, Sonya, as she learns, and finds her place in her environment - her place within the beautiful nature of Australia, and within her family and society at large. Whilst educational, the messages and stories are simple, fun and enchanting! It is written from a child’s perspective, so children can readily connect to little Sonya’s experiences.
