Tortoises normally sleep in the wintertime but this year will be different for Dwayne. Dwayne is a tortoise who has never experienced Christmas. He has never seen a Christmas tree or received presents from Santa. He decides to make plans with the cats to stay awake and experience the fun and laughter that Christmas brings. Clare lives in Kent with Lee, her husband, and Dwayne, who is a spur-thighed tortoise. They rescued him from the RSPCA. Clare and Dwayne have been pals ever since. Dwayne loves the garden as much as Clare does and they are often found together – Clare prunes and tends to the plants and flowers, while Dwayne loves to eat them! Clare loves to bake and attempts to create cakes for her extended family’s birthdays and celebrations.
