When Tom Stafford arrives home to find the body of his murdered wife, his life is turned upside down, not least because he is wrongly accused of her murder. He escapes from custody and sets about finding his wife's killer and trying to clear his name. Set in Western Australia, London and Paris, the story unfolds as, with the help of a resourceful policeman, Tom and an exceptional woman he rescues in the desert after her husband tried to kill her, gradually piece together the circumstances of Debbie's murder and how other deaths are related and intertwined.
