George Morton was born and brought up in Geldeston, Norfolk.
He graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2013 with a BA in History before moving to London where he now works for an advertising agency.
This is his first novel.

"The Fall" by George Morton is a highly original and unique story that I really enjoyed and thought was entertaining and very compelling.

I'm not quite sure what my idea of Hell is but after reading the author's interpretation of it, I'm actually very worried that it could well be like that - fiery hot, apocalyptic and fatally dangerous (even though you're already dead!) - his descriptions were fantastic - it truly was a frightening place and with very diverse, scary and interesting characters this was truly a horrendous place to wake up in.
Although this sounds very much a sci-if/horror story it was far from it, it was a very clever thriller that also makes you look at your own mortality and sinning.
I thought the character of Moloch the angel was fabulous although quite frightening and even though I loved the whole book the chapters 'Sing Sing' and 'What Grayson Did' were particularly descriptive and emotive. It was interesting to see how the main protagonists reacted when they realised they had died and arrived at Hell due to their sins.
There's quite a bit of swearing, violence, some drug use and sexual references within the story so I wouldn't suggest this for younger readers but I certainly recommend this book if you fancy something completely different and which will have you hooked from the start and I have to say for a debut novel the author has created a brilliant, original story that's entertaining, intriguing, thought provoking, tense and certainly unique.
