Book Description

One author’s excuses.

What, me write a book?

Don’t be so bloody daft.

It takes me long enough to read a book let alone write one, but then it was pointed out to me that l had written all about my family history, which by the way l loved doing so whats the difference, and l do have a good memory for things that happened a long time ago, on the radio the other day l heard a famous author say, all writers are liars, they call on their own experiences but then invent embroider and exaggerate in order to make a better story, l have not consciously tried to do this and l don’t think l need to , where l have quoted dialogue it must be remembered that l heard conversations like these many times over the years in one form or another, most of the incidents l describe are also well remembered by my brothers and sisters and even now on the rare occasions we get together we amuse each other with talk of the old days in Ladywood and laugh about things that were not quite so funny at the time and this has helped keep my memory fresh.

In his book, The Good Old Days: Growing up in the 1940s, 50s and 60s, Terence Walton writes about himself, describing his life and who he was, from his birth in Balsall Heath in 1945, just a few months before the end of World War II.
