The exciting adventure of three small kittens as they take on a shipload of pirates. Following the capture of Midge, Woody and Tom think of a plan to rescue him. Sadly, they too are caught, but with the help of the resident rats and mice, they form an alliance to overcome the pirates to obtain freedom and return home.
Following early retirement from the insurance industry, Mike moved to a small Essex coastal village. It was here that he joined a creative writing group where he was able to express his interest in writing short stories. In 2011, two small kittens came into his life and it was watching them play together that lead to the first kitten story. There are now ten in the series which were originally for his grandchildren. Mike now lives on the Isle of Wight.

The book the kittens and pirates by Mike Smith is a lovely story for children about his cats, we know these cats as they love to tease our dog in the garden ,you can just see them having this adventure. All your children and grandchildren will love this book
The writer of The Kittens and the Pirates has a vivid imagination and anything can happen in a story with that skill.

Kittens, pirates, mice and adventure; what more could a child wish for?!
We've read this delightful book to our 5 year old daughter several times now and she absolutely adores it.
Although she's still a bit young to read it herself, she loves looking at the amazing illustrations and seems to spot new things each time!
Here's hoping that Woody, Midge & Tom are brave enough to have more adventures together soon!
This is a great book for young children to read it’s full of character and lovely pictures and the kittens adventure with the pirates on the boat. Any young child will enjoy reading this book.
This is an excellent book with wonderful kitten characters for children to love. The size is ideal for bedtime reading with nice big print and fantastic action illustrations to discuss on every page. The story is nicely written with great heart and a good storyline. I enjoyed this style of writing which is basic enough for young children and parents to enjoy together especially at story time. The price point too is good value for money.
