Michael John Pole spent thirty years seeing the world through a lens, running a commercial photography business that took him from New Zealand to Europe, Asia, and the Americas. In 2011, he moved to Australia, where he turned his creative focus from capturing images to weaving stories.

Driven by his faith and a deep, long-held connection to Israel and the Middle East, Michael writes fiction that explores profound journeys and rich histories. He is the author of the Christian book Sam and the Open Road and the historical fiction novel The Landing Place. When he isn’t writing, Michael enjoys family life in Australia.
