Book Description

Imagine all the people who have lived here before us! Stretching back through the ages, Medieval, Viking, Saxon, Roman, Iron Age, Bronze Age and Stone age—all these humans who walked the same land that we walk on today. How incredible is that? But even more incredible is that we can still find things today that connect us with these people.  Physical objects that we can look at and maybe hold in our hands, that were lost or buried in their time and unearthed in ours.

Join us in this rhyming adventure to find lost treasures of ancient people.

Dawn Jackson lives on the seafront in Suffolk and has three grown up sons, who no longer live at home. Now working part time, she has found more time to do more of the things she loves, and writing poetry is one of those things.

Her love for poetry writing began at high school, where her English teacher named her ‘his little poetess’. She has entered, and won, a few poetry competitions over the years, and shared her poetry with friends and family, but now wants to spend more of her free time writing.

I have just received a copy of this very colourful and enjoyable book to share with the younger members of our family. The story line is engaging, the poetic words are a joy to read and the illustrations are great fun. I can see it being used either as a story to read to the very young or for youngsters to read and enjoy themselves. However on top of that I think the best thing about this book is that the subject matter will encourage all readers to take a interest in history and as they grow up develop this as a hobby or a subject to study at school.
