The inquisitive Fred goes out to find food for his increasingly large family, but he gets more than he bargained for when he has a 'close encounter' with a 'big person'. The world can be such a scary place, especially when you are only 'mouse size'.

A light-hearted story with a warm-hearted look at some issues raised during the pandemic with younger readers in mind, with slightly quirky watercolour and ink illustrations. Ideal as a read-aloud bedtime story.

Born in the sixties in the North East of England, Cath Wren wrote prolifically when young, encouraged by her parents and English teacher in both her artistic and literary abilities. She abandoned everything in her late teens and went to work in the finance industry. Cath recently returned to her creative writing and illustration and is loving it. She has a husband, two grown up children and has always been inspired by the works of Beatrix Potter.

Loved this story, with all the trimmings of a heartfelt story, for young and old alike, which many will relate to due to the pandemic, I can't wait for the next adventure.

I bought this book for a friend's Grandkids but ended up reading it more to myself. It's a lovely tale of how the pandemic has affected all God's creatures and is beautifully illustrated.

A lovely story of adventure and bravery during what has been a very scary time for everyone. The story teaches children that some of the best adventures are close to home. My great-nieces love reading the story out loud at bedtime.
I have given this book 5 stars. As it is a beautiful story of hope and courage during the pandemic.
Really looking forward to the next book
