Adam would never have imagined how life would change for him after he moved in to live with his uncle Steve…

At the beginning of this story, we are introduced to three friends Adam, Josh and Jane whose lives are inexorably bound together by a strong friendship.

Adam is a young man caught in a web of control and domination. The story includes themes of sexual, emotional and physical abuse. Some of this content is explicit. It confronts the issues of a confused sexuality, loss and grief. Adam reflects on the confusion, pain and struggles of his life as he enters adulthood.

Can Adam rediscover a relationship he once had with a person he grew to love from childhood?

Paul was born in the UK and grew up in South Lincolnshire. He has a background in education and now works in the mental health field.

Paul lives with his wife, Mary, in Macandrew Bay, Otago Peninsula, near Dunedin in South Island, New Zealand, where they have lived since 2005.

Paul has written poems, plays and short stories since he was a teenager. This is his first published novel.

Paul Anthony has clearly poured his heart and soul into this work which shines a much needed light light on how the abused come to believe themselves to somehow be at fault.

  • Susan Hollick

A compelling book It gave me a better understanding of the abused and abuser So brilliantly written Adam’s story was hard to read at times but pulled me right in Hoping there’s more from this talented author

  • Dave Hemsley

How the other half live, all those things we think are normal become dark little secrets which simmer and explode when least expected, who to trust. Proof of the need for good loyal friends. It's a book which having given answers, the questions change. An excellent read, hard hitting, a book for times such as ours. Face your demons and buy it now! Dave Hemsley , Lincoln, UK

The Plan! What a masterpiece for a first time author. I have devoured this work and long for the next one. Adam is incredibly vulnerable to the violence, intimidation and overpowering psychological love from Steve……even more so from his Dad. But this young man finds his way through this awfulness as he has The Plan. For a good read with quite a challenge then I can thoroughly recommend this book. Well done Paul Anthony. Next one please……

  • Grant Cooper

The Plan is a gripping drama that explores the impact of trauma on a young man's life and the resilience to overcome. You are taken on a Rollercoaster of emotions which makes the story hard to put down as you follow Adam's journey
