When a snowman accidentally loses his nose on a cold winter’s day, Basil the border terrier is more than happy to help. Along with his friends, our scruffy hero comes to the rescue.

Read on to find out what fun adventures Basil gets up to in this wintry tale.

Whilst separated in different countries during the COVID pandemic the author, B. A. Chenford, wrote newsletters to her granddaughter from the family dog, Basil. As a keen artist, she was inspired to paint and document some of Basil’s imaginary adventures in Derbyshire.

An enjoyable story about a dog (Basil), that helps a snowman. We loved meeting the different farmyard animals on Basil’s journey, brought to life by beautiful illustrations! Whilst this was a story intended for our 3 year old, I think his older brother enjoyed it just as much!

A charming and captivating story which my 5 year old grandson loved. Basil, the border terrier, uses his animal friends to find a new nose for Stanley the snowman.
We look forward to reading another adventure together of Basil’s brave exploits.

Stand out cover, fabulous illustrations, large print( presumably for the short-sighted grandparents who’ll be reading it at bedtime !) and a storyline to entertain young children who enjoy participating in a friendly dog tale - forgive the pun.
This book could well become a classic and I, for one, can’t wait for another adventure with the loveable characters we have been introduced to.

What a beautifully written and illustrated book. And what a lovely story behind its writing.
On opening the book soon became a family favourite. I look forward to following Basil on his next journey.

A sweet doggy tale with beautiful illustrations. I can almost feel the crisp cold winter scenes through the pages. My grandson loves it and I love reading it to him. I am looking forward to more of Basils adventures in the future.
