Book Description
The book, “The Story of a Moonfish,” is a tale of companionship, discovery and sea wonders.
This tale is about a group of marine creatures: Lunatic the Moonfish, Vattelapesca the foreign seaweed in the dancing seaweed valley, Observer the perplexed young worm and his very curious gossiping friend Zompa, the wandering Peter fish, the shy Conchillina and the Magic Turtle.
Their adventures as a group of friends travelling together take them through many seas: the Red Sea, the Australian Coral Reef, the Arctic, and the Depths of the Ocean until they return to the Mediterranean to deal with the pollution in their home waters.
The inspiration for the tale comes from the author’s childhood by the Mediterranean Sea.
The original illustrations came from Annalisa’s artist’s book with etchings and calligraphy that she completed in 1977 and is currently in the V&A and in the Museum of the Book in The Hague.
