Book Description

The past can be a very dangerous place. Biscuit learned this during her first adventure, but curiosity has a way of pulling her back in.

What begins as a fun day of fossil hunting on the Jurassic Coast quickly turns into something far more serious. Biscuit, the intrepid pup, soon finds herself caught up in history and unexpectedly pressed into service in the Royal Navy.

The year is 1805, and England faces the looming threat of invasion by the French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. The fate of the nation rests with Admiral Lord Nelson and his fleet.

Will Nelson succeed in defending Britain? And what surprising role might a curious dog play in one of the most important moments in naval history?

Scott McLean is a Canadian historian living in the south of England, who has spent most of his life teaching, researching, and writing about history and archaeology. His passion for history has led him to tramp about battlefields and medieval villages, Roman ruins, and prehistoric landscapes, dig up ancient rubbish we call ‘artefacts or treasure’ and travel to far-off places. He is Director of Explore History Ltd., and when he isn’t writing or podcasting spends his time, not unlike Indiana Jones, in search of musty smelling documents and ancient relics.
