Stripped of his captaincy and pilot’s licence due to a charge of negligence by a court after three crew members are killed on his first mission, he claims he is innocent. But he has no idea who his adversary is or why he wants to kill him. Events beyond his control then turn into an avalanche, which once started has to run its course before justice prevails. Friends’ lives are put in danger as they help him in finding the enemy. Altair, an alien creature, has taken his likeness and tries to deter Ross from taking the course of action he is determined to carry out, which can only result in disaster he fears: possibly culminating in the demise of his own life. Ross remains adamant, the need for revenge is too strong.
