There is a lot I still don’t know about life or about what the future might bring but I do know who I am and how to incorporate life being more about where we choose to go and not just about where we come from. I believe you can throw out the script we get handed during childhood and make different choices whilst implementing determination and positive affirmation. I have used my faith to demonstrate where I found my strength, this can be applied to any type of belief system someone may have. I hope this book can be an inspiration regardless of who you are or where you are in your own life journey and to encourage that it is not where you start but where you finish that really counts. As a result, I accept the idea that through withered weeds it is truly possible for flowers to bloom.

The story Through Withered Weeds Flowers Bloom by B. E. Thompson follows the life of Karen from when she was a young girl to her life as an adult. Karen passed through lots of suffering at the hands of her parents and people she trusted. The story takes us through the phases Karen goes through to battle these challenges in her life. To the side, it also highlights Karen's siblings and the challenges they face in relation to their family upbringing. Their stepfather, Lion-ford Murphy, is the main perpetrator of all Karen goes through in her journey through life to adulthood. B. E. Thompson takes us step by step into the life of Karen, giving us a feel of everything Karen goes through in her journey through her life. He starts every chapter by comparing her life in the current stage of the chapter to the stage of a blooming flower, making us understand more about the connection of this story to a blooming flower. The author gives a vivid transition between every stage of Karen's life, making us feel like we are within the story. Every stage is clearly painted for the reader to fully understand. The author's writing style is captivating and makes reading this book something of great interest. The reader encounters no huddles. The smooth transitions and explained relationship between the story and the book title keep the reader free of confusion. The life story of Karen, through the author's style of writing, is truly interesting. The author puts most of his focus on Karen and mostly ignores the other characters, like her stepfather and siblings, who are important in heightening the plot of the story. Sometimes he sheds a little light on them, leaving us in the dark as to what is transpiring behind the curtains. Nonetheless, the story has a vibe and gives the reader an understanding of what some people go through in their lives. I give this book 3 out of 4 stars. This book is captivating and carries us through the story smoothly. One easily understands the plot from the first chapter to the last. The author depicts the suffering some children go through at the hands of their parents and people they trust. The challenges are all laid out clearly. The reason I could not give it a 4 star rating is because I feel there is more the author could have said in order to give us a deeper understanding of the general life of Karen in this story. He could have taken us deeper into the lives of his siblings or partners to make us understand more about what surrounded her. But still, the story is awesome and worth reading. This book is recommended to people who are going through abuse by their parents or guardians as a way of encouragement. It's not recommended for people below the age of 16 due to the trauma of molestation depicted in the book.
