To a little boy's shock and disappointment, when he moves into an old barn set in the countryside, he finds that the farmyard animals are no longer living there...He decides that it is not much fun at all with no cows, sheep or ducks to keep him company, so he hatches a plan to let all of the farmyard animals back into the barn without his parents knowing.

The author lives in the Lancashire countryside with his wife and two young children and his beloved black Labrador Jet. When he is not fulfilling his passion for writing, he is kept busy crisscrossing the globe in his daytime job as an airline pilot.

Bought this to read to the grandchildren and they absolutely loved it. Really lovely story with great pictures.

My daughter loved the bright illustrations. With it being a short picture book it’s ideal for keeping the attention span of a 2 year old! I would say it’s recommended for ages between 2 and 6. It’s lovely written with a nice story throughout, and because so many old farm buildings are converted to residential dwellings nowadays it’s a very current story. Especially if you live in a converted barn!
