Queenie is an angel who comes to explain to the children the importance of speaking up straight away about their abuse. She even tells them who they can tell. Queenie teaches Amy and her best friend, Samuel, that it is okay to confide with an adult when they are forced to contend with abuse, be it physical or sexual. You can tell people that can make you safe, your class teacher, a policeman or woman. You could tell your mum or dad, or you can call Childline’s helpline.

My name is Alison, I am now 45, my stories are based on protecting and helping children and teenagers, due to being subjected to abuse as a child myself. I wrote the book in a way where if it had been read to me as a child, I would have spoken up then rather than later. This book and future books will be based on helping and guiding children of all ages, I’m hoping to keep them safe and prevent any harm to them.

Beautiful book, so well written and really well put for children. Such a brilliant idea for a book. So glad to have come across this book, I'm sure this will really help children who may encounter any form of abuse and help them to speak up about it. This also speaks to children not going through abuse, such a beautiful book that can be enjoyed by anyone. Highly recommend!!

A book that is majestic in its simplicity. Its message is powerful and reaches out to all ages. Children are given permission to speak out and adults are given an opportunity to discuss a difficult subject within the framework of a gentle storyline. This book should be in every doctor's waiting room, every school and public library. Once read, never forgotten. Highly recommended.

Beautifully written, I did not know how this terrible subject could be put in a way that children would understand but the author Alison Hale did it. It was brilliant and clever but sensitive and apt. I read to both my children and they loved it ❤️
