Another Day with Readers: Mary Elizabeth Earle at Totnes Holistic Fair

Visitors to the Totnes Holistic Fair on Saturday 31 October 2026 had the opportunity to meet Mary Elizabeth Earle at a signing for The Longing. The event took place at the Civic Hall in Totnes, Devon, from 10 am to 5 pm.

Mary’s second day at the fair gave Saturday visitors another chance to discover her memoir and get a copy signed. The fair continued across the weekend, with stalls and activities focused on wellbeing.

The Longing is a personal account of Mary’s childhood, her painful experiences, and the effort it took to start again.

Her story also follows her escape from a violent marriage and a solo trip to India. Through these experiences, she began to find a different path for herself.

Born in 1947, Mary later dedicated her work to helping others as a counsellor and trauma specialist. She wrote The Longing to share her experiences openly and offer hope to people going through hard times. Austin Macauley Publishers published the memoir.
