Mary Elizabeth Earle Brought ‘The Longing’ to Totnes Holistic Fair

Our author Mary Elizabeth Earle joined the Totnes Holistic Fair on Friday 30 October 2026 for a book signing of her memoir The Longing. Held at the Civic Hall in Totnes, Devon, the event ran from 10 am to 5 pm.

The signing gave visitors a chance to meet Mary and get a signed copy of her book. Her appearance formed part of a three-day fair that brought together therapy practitioners, readers and stallholders.

Published by Austin Macauley Publishers, The Longing tells Mary’s story of growing up in a troubled home and living with uncomfortable experiences. It follows the years she spent trying to build a safer and happier life.

After leaving a violent marriage, Mary travelled alone to India in her forties. She writes about her own life lessons and her wish to help others facing difficulties. Mary went on to work as a counsellor and trauma specialist. Her memoir offers encouragement to readers who may recognise parts of their own lives in her story.
