Meet Claire Rosemary Jane in Burnham-on-Sea

Families, wildlife enthusiasts, and readers are all welcome to join us for an uplifting morning honouring a tale of bravery, brotherhood, and support for the natural world.

Maria and the Shelduck narrates the story of a teenager who was bullied and then forms an unexpected friendship with a retired doctor after a chance meeting in a bird hide. Their peaceful Saturday gatherings quickly turn into amazing occasions where they work together to save wildlife and their community in ways neither could have predicted.

Born and raised in Malvern, Worcestershire, author Claire Rosemary Jane went on to earn her chartered surveyor's licence. She writes to encourage young people to believe that they can truly change the world because she is passionate about nature and concerned about climate change.
