The Shadowless Bird

Bewildered by the confusion of quarantine, Didi the young bird falls into a series of unusual reactions of disorientation, as a consequence of the psychological conditions of the lockdown, due to the virus threatening everybody’s life. Lacking the joy of living normally, he feels taken aback by the loss of his shadow.

Didi departs on an adventure to search for his lost shadow, proceeding beyond his fears to seek his truth, intersecting with the absolute truth of the individual, in the shadow of society and of collective and personal knowledge at the same time. He searches for the truth, which is also a very personal truth, even when applied to scientifically proven questions. And while everyone is influenced by his personal shadow and the shadows of modern life’s difficulties and challenges, in the light of the Coronavirus pandemic, that has swept the globe and eclipsed the standards of knowledge, by imposing totally different norms from all the concepts of freedom, that have been experienced, applied and fought for, across generations and civilisations, Didi is fighting his own battle of finding himself.

Starting with his family and friends, then further into the unknown of people and places, each character puts his own signature on the matter of the shadow, sought and aimed differently from person to person, reflecting the richness of life and inciting the call for solidarity between all living creatures.

The Sham

Our story begins with a pair of hikers: Beebee and Booboo, who were angling along the crooked path of the multicoloured mountainside of Sham Rock. Anyone and everyone knew that they had travelled too far. You and I know it because we are smarter than that. However, Beebee and Booboo did not know it; they had walked too far! What will they discover in this unknown land?

The She Team

Five animals, four cats and a dog, are all black and white and are females, but they have two more things in common not apparent at first – they have all been treated badly in different ways by a number of humans and they all have a superpower which helps them to get away from the baddies. Two kind brothers, nine-year-old Diarmuid and seven-year-old Eoghan, rescue the cats Smig, Ebi, Trig and Róisín and the dog, Mags, and persuade their parents to take them all into their home.

The animals do not like each other at first, but eventually Mags persuades the cats to abandon their differences and unite together to form The She Team. Her encouraging words, “Don’t get mad, get even!” convince them that they will work together to stop their tormentors from hurting other animals. They are confident that their superpowers will help them achieve their goal.

The Six Macs and the Slime Monster from Loch Ness

Thrusting their arms into the air with clenched fists they shout, "The Six Macs". Scruffy MacTuffy had no ideas that his nightmare was about to almost come true. Meeting for a fishing trip could have been a bad idea after their biggest catch got away, but what was it that got away? The Six Macs explore the opposite side of the river after a daredevil bridge crossing where they find a long dark cave leading to a journey of danger and something a little bit on the scary side. That evening they tell their parents what they saw, but they think their stories are a bit too imaginative. So a second trip is arranged for the following day with their parents coming along. The parents keep joking about the Six Macs' story but they will soon believe every single word they said.

The Skip Monster

Penelope and Paddy are very confused by the arrival of a large metal monster, it seems to just sit while Daddy feeds it more and more, what is it and when will it stop eating? Overnight they are shocked to discover that the monster has grown, Penelope needs to take action quickly before the monster grows even more and devours the contents of the house for dinner and Mummy and Daddy for dessert!
