Sue Sibbons intended on teaching children the importance of reading with her book ‘The Alphabet Picnic’. The author and her book were the subjects of an article on St. George & Sutherland Shire Leader News recently.

Sue discussed why she felt the need to write the book. “I visited five libraries in the Shire and I only came across one that focused on the alphabet”, she said when speaking about the inspiration for writing the book.

Born and raised in Kent, England, she now resides in Sydney, Australia. She has a very deep understanding of children being a professional nanny. Her passion for early childhood education is part of the reason why she decided to be a children’s author.

The book has received praise from well-known corners as being creative and simple at the same time.

Illustrations are visually appealing and they accompany rhymes that make the read entertaining for children. They can follow the simple rhymes and have fun while they learn.

Setting for the book is a golden Australian beach where all the alphabets have come for a picnic.
