Austin Macauley Publishers’ This Year’s Outreach So Far

This year, Austin Macauley Publishers has already participated in various literary events taking place around the world. We have been an active participant of all major international book fairs, literary festivals, seminars and exhibitions.   Through these events, we have been successful in gaining exposure for our brilliant authors, with many of our authors having won prestigious literary awards and nominations. We also continue to encourage aspiring writers to ask questions and take their next steps toward holding their published book.   London Book Fair The year kicked off with London Book Fair 2019, one of the most significant literary events in the UK. This year, the London Book Fair celebrated their 48th anniversary of bringing together thousands of writers, authors and literary professionals from all over the world under one roof.   Austin Macauley witnessed a huge footfall and hosted many enthusiastic book lovers, published authors and writers. Some of them signed books and engaged in other activities with our helpful staff. Our team helped to nurture both writers and readers interests in hybrid publishing.   After having a successful excursion at London Book Fair 2019, Austin Macauley Publishers took part in a charitable cause and donated books to The Book Trade Charity (BTBS). As a publishing house, we always encourage our authors and readers to be a part of such generous activities promoting the love of reading and writing.         Bologna Children’s Book Fair Bologna Children’s Book Fair is one of the most important international events to attend as it opens doors to create new contacts, build professional relationships and discover new business opportunities in the industry.   This was the first time we had attended Bologna Children’s Book Fair and was one that we thoroughly enjoyed.       Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival was another exciting event we participated in this year. The festival commenced from the 17th to the 27th of April and witnessed a great number of attendees. It is a renowned book festival in the Middle East and is a popular destination for book enthusiasts.   With a variety of our books on display our stand was also the hub of creative activities for children. The Austin Macauley team organized many word finder games as well as book and colouring competitions. It was an event enjoyed by all staff and one we look forward to attending again in the future!     Abu Dhabi International Book Fair We also proudly participated in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2019 from the 24th to the 30th of April. This prestigious event saw thousands of book-lovers and literary enthusiasts from all over the world enter its doors.   The Austin Macauley team also had the privilege to meet Shika Butol Al Qasimi from the royal family as well as Chef Bobby Chinn.   We had a great time meeting new and established authors, whilst enjoying catching up with some of our current authors who also took time out to hand sign copies of their books for attendees interested.     Jade Robertson made it to the 30 most influential women list Another remarkable achievement that we are proud of this year is that our International Publishing Director, Jade Robertson made her way into the list of the most influential women in business within the UAE. Through her excellent entrepreneurial skills, Jade has played a vital role in our success internationally.           Summer Reception with PA During June this year, we attended The Publishers Association’s Summer Reception, hosted at The House of Commons, London. The Summer Reception was sponsored by Springer Nature, celebrating the 150th year of Nature; the science and technology journal which was first published back in 1849.   The Publishers Association encouraged authors, writers, readers, publishers and everyone associated with the literary world to call on the UK government to remove the 20% tax on purchasing digital books. Austin Macauley Publishers showed their full support for this endeavour and you can too here - https://www.axethereadingtax.org/   We are also proud to announce that The Publishers Association included Austin Macauley’s publication; A Book of Rather Strange Animals by Caleb Compton in their 2019 Summer Recess Reading List for Parliamentarians prior to the Summer Reception. We are sure everyone will enjoy reading this interesting book.   Nairobi International Publishers Association Seminar In June we were delighted to be one of the sponsors of The Nairobi International Publishers Association Seminar together with many other key organizations from the publishing community.   Our minds were broadened by the potential the publishing communities within Africa put across, with Global representatives sharing their support with the African countries and their mission to transform the future of African publishing. We enjoyed the featured keynotes from globally renowned authors, decision makers and industry thought leaders; in addition to panel sessions and workshops on themes addressing pressing challenges facing the African publishing industry.   Austin Macauley have had an amazing year so far attending some of the key international book fairs. We’ve published some brilliant books by many extraordinary authors from all over the world, whilst collaborating with some acclaimed industry professionals.
