She mentioned her daughter to be calm, intelligent and intellectual whereas her son Tom has got to mischief all his life with his big friends’ circle. The book is about a boy Tom who lived on the seaside and has always enjoyed catching up with his mates all his life. As he grew up, he became a local handyman and people named him ‘Tradie Tom’ with affection. The plot revolves around Tom, his adventures with friends and their fun life. They always have their surfboards at the back because they have one motto which is ‘you never know when the surf will be up’.

Christine Lowe had been living in Rochdale, UK but at the age of 30, she along with her new husband moved to Australia. She began writing for her children to tell them little stories on their bedtime which further inspired her to write a book. The little mischiefs of children gave her inspiration for writing.
