Austin Macauley’s talented author, Hazel Aitken, gets featured in The Sunday Post for her novel, The Pretty Girls. Talking to the newspaper, the author said, “I enjoy historical research, particularly the Victorian age, so it’s another mystery novel”. The interview was published on 3^rd May 2020.

The Pretty Girls is a story of Hannah Morley and her widowed mother, who moved to Blackfriars Lanes in 1860. They are worried about the welfare of a child who lives next door as they suspect something is not right in the neighbourhood. Hannah Morley also suspects that there is some link between her workplace with Blackfriars Lane.

Hazel Aitken has a passion for social history and she has been publishing articles, poems and short stories for many years. She enjoys the company of her four grandchildren and cherishes her trips to co Kildare, Ireland, where some of her family lives.
