“In Spirits Shadow” focuses on historical icons who are snatched just before they die by a benevolent race of aliens to serve as protectors of Earth since time immemorial. Their role later results in a conflict between humans and the alien beings, necessitating the icons to work alongside the leaders of contemporary politics and war without the knowledge of other humans. The novel contains themes of espionage, warfare, romance, and international crisis.
Steve H McLellan, the author of this article, hails from the town of Fonthill. Before his retirement in 2016, he worked with the City of Mississauga as an underwriter. Following his retirement, he experienced a heart attack that prompted him to change the direction of his life by pursuing higher education, earning a diploma from York University in 2024.
