His fight was not with the enemy outside but the enemy within. The author, John Bell was born in Nottingham. He built his career in music and is now working for adults with learning disabilities.

After he was discharged from the army, James worked at various odd positions before finally getting a job at the magistrate's court. He turned to write later in life and eventually achieved his dream of becoming a published author at the age of 76.
