Winsome Packer
Winsome Packer, a former American diplomat and congressional staffer, is presently a refugee in India, where she seeks asylum. Ms. Packer served as the representative of the Congress to the US Mission to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in Vienna, Austria, where she gained a first-hand view of contentious debates between Russia and NATO partners over critical security issues. As the first policy advisor for aviation security to the US House of Representatives Homeland Security Committee, she played an important role in shaping new policies to mitigate terrorist threats to commercial, private, and cargo aviation. A US presidential appointee, she served as an advisor to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in 2002. She is the author of A Personal Agenda.
