Lynda Vicars
Lynda Vicars was born in inner city Liverpool, raised and educated in Kirkby, on the outskirts of the city. After attending Liverpool University and completing her teacher training, she volunteered to teach in Nigeria, and travelled throughout that country and other parts of West Africa. On her return from volunteering, she taught in schools in Northern England, with a three-year interlude teaching in Papua New Guinea in the company of her husband and young family. Whilst starting as a teacher of English and history she latterly qualified and specialised in Special Needs teaching. Now retired, she and her husband live on the Beara Peninsula, South West Ireland.
