Book Description

After a fall from a horse, Mike couldn’t walk. He overheard the doctor tell his mother it was ‘psycho something’, so he thought that meant he was crazy. His parents were having a swimming pool installed to help him, and one of the workmen found something buried in the dirt.

What was it?

Where did the genie come from?

Why was he in Australia?

Was he going to help Mike to walk again?

Would he use a few magic words or… What?

Did Mike walk again?

Was it some sort of magic?

And what became of the genie?

Tess Earnshaw was born in North Perth, Australia, prior to WWII. From a very early age, she loved books and stories, especially about magic and ghosts. She wrote stories for her grandchildren.

After retiring as a medical secretary in 2001, she moved to a small country town where she read her stories to a class of children. From their suggestions, her idea for A Sort of Magic came.

For 33 years she has been a volunteer radio presenter, still broadcasting. She wrote a radio play which has been recorded and broadcast, and she often participates in a chat programme reading some of her poems.
