Book Description

An autobiography written by a woman who kept things sweet because she was afraid of her tempestuous husband. She had twenty-six years of putting up with his frightening outbursts, but it only took six words spoken by him to make her leave her marriage behind.

Her life always seemed to run in threes. Three boys, three scary journeys abroad alone, third time lucky before she finally found the courage to file for divorce.

This book is aimed at both women and men who feel they haven’t got the coping skills to change part or all of their lives.

They may feel trapped but fear they wouldn’t cope if they made that change or left their current life behind, when in fact, they are probably the ones doing all the coping anyway!

Cilla Shiels’s life has always seemed to run in threes: she raised three sons, endured three scary journeys alone, and found it was a case of third time lucky before she finally left her first marriage behind.

Her writing is aimed at those who feel they haven’t got the coping skills to change their lives. They may feel trapped and fear they wouldn’t manage, yet they are probably the ones doing all the coping anyway. Cilla’s story is a testament to the resilience already within.

Thoroughly enjoyed it! Kept wanting to know what was going to happen next. Should inspire people not to give up.

Silly woman! You may ask why on earth would you stay so long, suffering, worrying, coping alone and shelving your dreams. Well, you see, only if you've been in that situation will you understand a little of the courage it takes to try and turn things around. Although I feel the author has probably been too kind in her description of her first husband's behaviour - this shows how the success of the outcome of her journey has resulted in a fulfilled and contented person. Well done Cilla!

Very inspiring. A must read for people who need to feel the fear and do it anyway. There is no such thing as cant, just wait for the right moment and do it. Thoroughly enjoyed this book.
