That’s Cherry Blossom!

She’s angry. Her once peaceful, happy existence has been destroyed and blasted to pieces by high-pitched screeching and shrieking. Ollie, her new baby brother, the red-faced, relentlessly loud, ear-piercing screecher, has forced Cherry Blossom to invent ways to survive his unbearable loudness.

She wishes that she didn’t have a baby brother. She could never love that little red-faced screecher, could she?

While at Little Gym with her dad, no Ollie, she’s happily swinging back and forth on a bar when the unthinkable happens. How will Cherry Blossom react? Will her heart crack open to her new baby brother? Or will her heart slam shut tight?

Penney Elder met her husband Lee while serving in the United States Air Force. They both worked in rawinsonde, the launching and tracking of weather balloons. They have been married for fifty years and have raised two sons and a daughter. They have lived in Lee’s Summit, Missouri since 1982, and their family has expanded to include two granddaughters and a grandson.

While raising her three children, she often found them to be funny, both intentionally and naturally, kind and loving in their words, actions, and thought processes. Their grandchildren have given them those same gifts and the opportunity to observe them as they often solve their own daily parade of problems by themselves.
