Daisy faces an impossible choice: eternal peace, joy, and love – or the torment of the abyss. Without hesitation, she chooses the latter, determined to reunite with her son, Gunter, in a realm of infernal pain and suffering.

Raised on a desolate rubbish dump by his loyal dog, Red, Gunter has never known the truth of his birth – that he is the lost heir of Cruzland, the son of the late King Heyah Cruz II. All his life, he has endured the cruelty of the Cruces, and now, his fate takes an even darker turn. Shackled in iron and condemned to toil in the harsh cruzberry fields, Daisy’s only solace is the memory of her husband.

When his ghost appears with an unexpected command –to save the very people who have enslaved them – Daisy is left with a single, daunting question: can love truly break the chains that bind her?

Daniel Joseph de Cruz has written and published three books, which he collectively calls The Cruzland Chronicles. The first is The Cruces Crises, followed by Oh, The Hoops You Go Through! and, finally, the concluding book in the trilogy, Daisy’s Chains.

Daniel’s stories may appear at first to be simple fairy-tales, but really, they are a mystery, secret conundrums, unclear, shrouded in clouds of obscurity and not what they often appear. They pose deep philosophical questions about life and death and beyond. Why are we here? Where we are we going? What do we do along the way? Daniel’s stories are about life and after-life, love and hate, right and wrong, courage and faith, mercy and forgiveness. They encourage the reader to think about such fanciful things because these are the things that Daniel thinks about and the reason he wrote these books.
