Book Description
Dolly King is thrown into a world where ruthless men rule; her dad, Michael King being one of them and Tommy Wright, being another. To survive she needs to be as tough as the men, if not tougher. Even though Tommy tries to shield her she rises to the challenge when a back street crook and his tart try to wipe out her dad and frame Tommy. She hunts them down and plans on making them pay in the worst possible way until her dad manages to trick her into leaving the barn so Tommy can mete out the punishment. Just as things seem to calm down and life is on the up, another enemy strikes leaving Dolly vulnerable and in need of saving. Sometimes it’s those closest to you who you most need to worry about.
Carol Hellier was born in Romford, she has lived in many different counties before returning to Essex 27 years ago, where she raised her family.
She has been a hairdresser, barmaid, cleaner, and care support worker. Now currently working for the NHS, Carol writes in her spare time.
Of all the different jobs she has had, by far the best was being a mother.

Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. Very gritty gangland action. Violent in places with some swearing. Really enjoyed it and hope there’s a sequel as it was left open at the end.

Was recommended this author by a friend, Loved the Dolly King book by author Carol and nearly finished The first one of The Stepney Feud and about to purchase the follow up book, if you like east end gangster stories your love Carols books, wish there had been a follow up to Dolly King

Was looking for something easy to read after having Covid. Loved the character, very relatable, full of surprises. Will be following this author for more kindle books to read.

Having finished the Stepney feud in 2 hours I downloaded this book, what another great read. Couldn’t put it down this was read in 3 hours as I had to cook the tea.

This book definitely kept me on the edge of my seat, Dolly King daughter of Michael had a hard upbringing and didn't meet her dad until she was 20 . He had been in jail and is a bad boy gangster with brothers who all work for the firm. Then Dolly has boyfriend Tommy, another bad boy from the same kind of family. He won't let Dolly out of his sight and if he's not with her his men follow her everywhere unbeknown to her. He's totally possessive ,terrible murders are happening to women in the district and he wants her safe indoors but Dolly has a kind of her own. I would recommend this book.

Well I must say for the 1st time I’ve read Carol Helier book, it was very good and there must be a backup coming! I like the way she brought you in with the characters. I dislike when the Authors go on about what’s around them and what going on in the character’s mine. But I must say I was impressed for my 1st time reading Carol Hellier book.
