I haven't finished this book yet, but like to read a few pages every night. Richard chares many of his querky and individual thoughts with the reader, and I can relate to my own thought processes when walking by myself. He also adds a wealth of well researched and surprising facts about Scotland into the daily report. They are like opening a wrapped sweetie and getting surprised. Richard is a genuine person (I have known him for years), and you can trust that he will not share any fake stuff. So those insights give you plenty interesting facts to share in conversation with friends, which not many may know. Written in good, but not too difficult English this book serves me well when I want to relax, a English is not my mother tongue. So I guess that many tourists will love it, too. There are also frequent links to historical and cultural events, peppered with Richards own humour and judgement at times. Am looking forward to the second half of the walk, the second book - soon to come hopefully. Thank you Richard, and thank you publisher!
