Doris Merchant has worked in people-centred occupations throughout her career: her work has spanned mental health and prison services, including management experience. A practising Roman Catholic, she has always been involved with the church. It took partial retirement to present the opportunity to write, something she has found enormously satisfying. Her first book explores the anguish felt when vocation comes up against love.
