Gary studied at The University of Essex between 2001-2004, achieving a Bachelor of Arts with an Honours degree in History. Between 2010-2011 he studied for a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at The University of East London achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). He has been a Teacher in Primary Schools for 14 years to date.
Heather studied Business Management & Human Resources, achieving a First Class Bachelor of Arts in 2016. Alongside her job in the arts sector, Heather hosts a podcast called ‘History with H’ where she discusses historical castles and palaces with guests.
Gary and Heather got engaged at Framlingham Castle in May 2023 and are getting married at Hedingham Castle in August 2025.

I thought I’d buy this book to introduce my kids to some of the historic castles before we visited them and I’m glad I did. This is a lovely little book for introducing kids to history. My kids loved hearing about Little Bean and Little Egg’s adventures, exploring our nation's castles and learning about the past. Each charming, humorous short story is easy to follow and the pictures are colourful and engaging. If you’re planning a visit to one of these historic castles, or even if your children just enjoy fun educational books, then they love this charming little book
As someone who has always loved castles, I really enjoyed reading this with my kids. A great little read.
