Book Description

A story about a young boy who at the start of the tale is happy and enjoying most things in life, but it is short-lived as he experiences all that life throws at him, causing drama and pain for him. Advancing into adulthood, he’s pushed into war and all the horrors that go hand in hand with it. A grim time in far-off places that he often wishes he was far from and back into a world of contentment, a world he was once happy in.

A spark of relief comes, yet only in short bursts until more drama follows.

Fate changes his course, and new friends are made. Memories haunt him; guilt follows him everywhere. As the years pass, what is there for him? What can he do? Will he ever be at peace again? Help comes from an old friend.

Marion Heather Cane grew up in the beautiful Somerset countryside. Close to her sisters, they had a carefree childhood. Later, the family moved to Devon, which was equally lovely. From childhood, she was always interested in writing both poetry and stories. Most of her working life was spent in business with her husband who always encouraged and supported her. Only recently, after many years as a director of their family business, Marion retired. After immigrating to Spain, she now enjoys the idyllic life there that gives her so much inspiration for her writing.
